LIGHTNING PROSPECTS TO COMPETE AT TRAVERSE CITY ROOKIE TOURNAMENT
The Tampa Bay Lightning are one of five National Hockey League teams participating in a prospect tournament at Center I.C.E. Arena in Traverse City, Mich., from Sept. 6-10.

Lightning prospects, including 2005 first round draft choice Vladimir Mihalik, will compete against prospects from the Atlanta Thrashers, Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets. In order to participate, players must have been born in 1982 or later, and each team can have up to four players with one year of professional experience.

At the conclusion of the tournament, select players will join the Lightning training camp, which begins with physicals and testing on Sept. 12 at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon. Scrimmages and practices begin on Sept. 14, and are open to the public. A complete training camp schedule will be released at a later date.
