Lightning Prospects Defeat Red Wings Prospects 3-2
The Tampa Bay Lightning prospects connected for three power play goals as they defeated the Detroit Red Wings prospects, 3-2, to finish second in the Traverse City prospects tournament. A third-period goal by 2005 draft choice Marek Kvapil was the difference as Tampa Bay goaltender Gerald Coleman made 36 saves to earn the victory.

The Lightning (3-1) pulled even at 1-1 on a goal by 2004 draft choice Justin Keller less than a minute after Detroit took the lead early in the first. Tampa Bay took a 2-1 lead at 5:32 of the first on an Adam Henrich goal, and the Red Wings tied the game at 3:04 of the second period.

Andy Rogers, Zbynek Hrdel, Stanislav Lascek, Paul Ranger and Radek Smolenak recorded assists for the Lightning.
