LIGHTNING ASSIGN ARTYUKHIN TO SPRINGFIELD
The 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning reduced their preseason roster to 21 today by assigning right wing Evgeny Artyukhin to Springfield of the American Hockey League, it was announced by Executive Vice President & General Manager Jay Feaster.

Artyukhin, 22 appeared in five preseason games with the Lightning, recording three goals and eight penalty minutes. A 6-foot-4, 254-pound native of Moscow, Artyukhin was selected in the third round, 94th overall, by the Lightning at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Lightning will be off on Saturday, October 1 and will travel to Sunrise to face the Florida Panthers in their final preseason game on Sunday, October 2 (1 p.m.). The team's next scheduled practice is Monday, October 3 at 9 a.m. at the St. Pete Times Forum
