LIGHTNING REASSIGN TARNASKY & ARTYUKHIN TO SPRINGFIELD
Both players made their NHL debut in Thursday's 6-0 win at Atlanta and also appeared in Tampa Bay's 4-1 loss against Ottawa tonight.
Artyukhin, 22, appeared in 62 games with Springfield in 2004-05, recording nine goals, 19 assists and 142 penalty minutes. A 6-foot-4, 254-pound native of Moscow, Artyukhin was selected in the third round, 94th overall, by the Lightning at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Tarnasky, 20, was selected in the ninth round by the Lightning at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-2, 233-pound native of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta appeared in 80 games with Springfield last season, recording seven goals, 10 assists and 176 penalty minutes.
The Lightning will practice at 11:30 a.m. at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon on Saturday, October 22. The team is scheduled to be off on Sunday, October 23.
