LIGHTNING TO HIT HOCKEY HALL OF FAME
The Lightning, who will be in Toronto for the Hockey Hall of Fame Game Saturday night against the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre, will follow the free signing with a team screening of 'Stanley Cup Odyssey.' The film, produced by award-winning Network Entertainment, chronicles the history of the trophy that ignited a national passion and became an international icon. Beginning with a re-enactment of a game from the 1800's, the film climaxes with highlights from the thrilling 2004 Stanley Cup playoffs, eventually won, of course, by the Lightning.
This was the third in a parade of champions who have been honoured by hockey's Hall of Fame. Earlier this summer, Team Canada's World Champion Juniors were heralded with a special day followed a month later by a commemorative day for the Memorial Cup champion London Knights.
