INSIDE THE LIGHTNING - NOLAN PRATT
Sun Sports' popular INSIDE THE LIGHTNING series profiles Tampa Bay defenseman Nolan Pratt this month in a new episode premiering statewide Wednesday, January 25, at 7:30pm.
Host Paul Kennedy talks with Pratt about growing up in Ft. McMurray, Alberta, Canada, his choice between college and junior hockey; even though he was told he would never make it to the NHL, and enjoying the Stanley Cup on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and at the famed Gretzky statue in Edmonton. Viewers will also hear from Nolan on what it was like to play for the Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning and about his involvement in the Kids Are Heroes program in the Tampa Bay area.
Pratt's biggest accomplishment may be his successful home life. His love and loyalty to his family, being a father and the close relationship he has with his brothers, friends and teammates. Family interviewed includes wife Deborah and parents Albina and John Pratt. Included are many family pictures from Nolans childhood and current family life -- Nolan with Joe Jurevicius and Brad Johnson, together with the Lombardi and Stanley Cup trophies; Nolan and his family with the cup(s); and video featuring Nolan as an eighth grade "actor" and playing hockey as a nine-year-old.
