Icefest

PLAYER APPEARANCES, Q & A WITH JAY FEASTER & JOHN TORTORELLA, INTERACTIVE GAMES, SINGLE-GAME TICKET ON-SALE HIGHLIGHT FREE EVENT AT ST. PETE TIMES FORUM

The Tampa Bay Lightning will welcome fans to the St. Pete Times Forum on Saturday, August 26 for IceFest, presented by Chrysler-Jeep, a free hockey festival designed to celebrate the start of the 2006-07 season. The special event will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Lightning stars Martin St. Louis, Brad Richards, Dan Boyle, Nolan Pratt, Tim Taylor and Ruslan Fedotenko scheduled to appear. Lightning executive vice president & general manager Jay Feaster and head coach John Tortorella will participate in a Q & A session for season ticketholders at noon.

Fans arriving for IceFest will enjoy games for the kids, player autographs, live entertainment and merchandise specials (up to 50% off) at kiosks in the St. Pete Times Forum. Hot dogs, sodas and popcorn will be offered for $1, Walgreen's will be selling commemorative Lightning coins and the Lightning Foundation will hold an auction of autographed memorabilia. St. Louis will be on the ice with children who participated in the Lightning hockey camp this summer for a skills demonstration.

The Lightning coaching staff, broadcasters and ThunderBug will also greet fans, who can register to win autographed Lightning prizes. Sponsors participating in the event include The St. Petersburg Times and Pepin Distributing.

In addition, August 26 (10 a.m.) is the day that individual tickets for the Lightning's 41 home regular season games and two home preseason games (including the Detroit Red Wings' only trip to Tampa in 2006-07) go on sale at the McDonald's Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations. The first 500 fans to purchase four or more single game tickets in the McDonald's Box Office inside the St. Pete Times Forum will receive a puck autographed by Brad Richards. Additionally, 15-game packs are still available starting at $199.

The Lightning will open their 14th training camp at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon on Thursday, September 14.
