During the month of October the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Lightning Foundation teamed up for 'Making Saves, Saving Lives.' This special new program donated money for every save made by Marc Denis and the Lightning goaltenders in October home games to the Don & Erika Wallace Comprehensive Breast Program at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute.
October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Lightning and Lightning Foundation accepted pledges from fans as well as one-time contributions. All donations and pledges will go directly to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center to support breast cancer research.
Tampa Bay played seven home games in the month of October, and in those games Denis and Johan Holmqvist combined to make 163 saves for a good cause!
