The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Lightning Foundation will host a post-game bucket drive for all eight Lightning home games from November 24 until December 23 in a program called Holiday Cheer for the Children. All monies raised will be used to purchase tickets for pediatric cancer patients and their families.
Following each game the Lightning Foundation will accept monetary donations at all gates. All dollars collected will go directly towards tickets for families associated with the Children's Cancer Center and the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Many of these children and their families are not able to have a normal holiday season because of their illnesses and the medical costs associated with treating them.
The special guests who receive the tickets will attend the Lightning's game on December 28 against the Philadelphia Flyers. Those families that can not attend the game will have the ability to request alternate games. Each ticket will be purchased at a special discounted rate.
