LIGHTNING REASSIGN G KARRI RAMO TO SPRINGFIELD
Ramo, 6-foot-2, 192-pounds, has played in 14 games with the Falcons this season and posted an 8-3 record with a 2.89 goal-against average, .911 save percentage and one shutout in his first North American season. Ramo is currently tied for third in the AHL in wins and ranks 12th in save percentage. He served as the back-up for the Lightning Saturday night at Ottawa.
The Asikkala, Finland native aided HPK Hameenlinna to the Finnish Championship in 2005-06, his first year with the team. Ramo, 20, played in 24 games for HPK, posting a 2.16 GAA and a .929 save percentage.
He represented Finland at the 2006 World Junior Championships and played in one game en route to winning a bronze medal.
Ramo was selected by the Lightning in the sixth round, 191st overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
