THE LIGHTNING INSIDER
It has been a long time since the Lightning were seriously hit by the injury bug, but it appears that streak has come to an end.  The Tampa Bay public relations staff informed the media this morning that Chris Gratton will be out two weeks with a hip injury.  This news comes a day after it was announced that Michel Ouellet would miss 4-6 weeks with a dislocated shoulder.  The pair now joins Dan Boyle (wrist surgery), Ryan Craig (knee) and Tim Taylor (hip, long term injury) on the shelf as the Lightning have lost 56 man-games to injury entering tonight's game.  Much like any other injury situation, some players will have to step up and fill in.  In this case that will be Craig MacDonald, who spent the previous seven games as a healthy scratch, and Blair Jones, who was recalled yesterday from Norfolk.  They will both be in the line-up tonight against the Captials.  This is a good chance for MacDonald to make an impact and earn a spot in the line-up once players become healthy.

Andre Roy's 9:09 of ice time last game and two-game goal streak has not gone unnoticed by the local media.  John Tortorella told the media this morning that Andre earned the ice time with his play and reiterated that he feels the players dictate how much ice time they will have by their actions on the ice.

Johan Holmqvist will be in net tonight hoping to improve on his 2-0-0 record and 2.00 goals-against average against Washington this season.
