You've got two teams desperate for points in the Eastern Conference playoff race tonight when the Lightning face the Sabres, which should translate into an entertaining game for the fans. Don't forget the special 7 p.m. Start time tonight to accommodate VERSUS' national telecast (no Sun Sports). Dave Strader and Daren Eliot will call the game for VERSUS tonight, with Bob Harwood serving as the rinkside reporter.

The Lightning had a rare “mandatory” morning skate this morning with John Tortorella on the ice stressing the importance of tonight’s game at every opportunity. Tortorella didn’t discuss the lineup for tonight, but Doug Janik, Mathieu Darche and Kyle Wanvig stayed out to skate extra so it looks like Michel Ouellet will make his return tonight. With Ouellet and Boyle healthy, Ryan Craig and Tim Taylor remain the only two injured players this season.

Nolan Pratt stopped by to chat before Buffalo hit the ice this morning, and he sounds like he’s enjoying his time in Buffalo. Pratt said he’ll likely be putting his New Tampa house up for sale soon, making Colorado his family’s summertime home base.
