Another enjoyable win for the Lightning, who are looking more and more like a team that's confident it will be in the playoffs. It was especially nice that the Lightning fans, who were battling verbally all night with the Montreal fans in attendance, were able to get the last laugh after an emotional game. Vaclav Prospal was a monster on the ice, while most everyone in the lineup seemed focused on the task at hand after a rough start. Karri Ramo was solid in net and made two or three heart-stopping saves in the final minute to preserve the victory.

Michel Ouellet, who I’d said was going to be a scratch, got a late call to join the lineup when Andreas Karlsson was excused for personal reasons. Ouellet responded to the opportunity by scoring an important goal in the first period after Cristobal Huet couldn’t handle Jan Hlavac’s wrister.

The Lightning skated at noon today and had planned on a 230 flight to Philadelphia, but a two-hour delay due to the weather in Philly turned it into an early-evening trip to PA. Karlsson did not practice or make the trip, while Chris Gratton stayed off the ice for body maintenance and Brad Lukowich continues to be sidelined by an abdominal/groin injury. John Tortorella also skipped the workout so Mike Sullivan ran the practice.

This is the team's first trip to Philadelphia, where a desperate Flyers team awaits. After a strong run that put them in second in the Eastern Conference, the Flyers have dropped four in a row heading into tomorrow night’s meeting.
