TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning will host a “Big Brothers Big Sisters Night” at the St. Pete Times Forum as the team faces off against the New York Rangers on March 15, 2008 (7:30 p.m., Sun Sports, AM620 WDAE). Many Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers will be in attendance along with their Little Brothers and Sisters enrolled in the youth mentoring program.

Lightning fans will get a glimpse of a new public service announcement created by Big Brothers Big Sisters to promote male volunteerism through a new Sports Buddies initiative. Lightning defenseman Paul Ranger is a spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters and appears in the new PSA. He plans to do a meet and greet with the “Bigs” and “Littles” in attendance following the game.

A St. Petersburg Times Newspapers in Education sports-focused teaching poster featuring Ranger and other athlete spokespersons, as well as other information about Big Brothers Big Sisters will also be available to fans.
