The Lightning Insider
Let tampabaylightning.com become your destination for all the latest Lightning scoops. The Lightning Insider will be in the stands, in the locker room and on the road with the team throughout the 2007-08 season to provide you with a positive look at the Bolts as they pursue Lord Stanley’s hardware. Our resident snoop will post the latest following practices and morning skates, and he’ll make sure you’re the first to know when the Lightning are making news.  Have a question or comment for The Insider?  Send me an email at Insider@tampabaylightning.com

OK, let’s start off with something fun. If you’ve seen this blog then you’ve seen the silhouetted photo above that’s used to keep my identity a secret. Well, I confess, it’s not a photo of me. In fact, it’s actually a photo taken from one of my favorite movies, and it’s a picture of one of my favorite characters. Here’s the deal – email me by April 5 and correctly identify the character in the picture and movie the photo is from, and I’ll send you an autographed stick from a Lightning player.  For example: “Marty McFly, Back to the Future.”

Here are a couple of hints. First, the movie has hockey in it. Secondly, the movie came out before the year 2000. That’s all you get; good luck!

Now, to today’s business. Mike Smith looks ready to get back in the lineup tonight, though he’ll back up Karri Ramo. One surprise this morning is that Brad Lukowich is expected to return tonight following his hernia surgery, with Shane O’Brien scratched on defense. The rest of the lineup is expected to stay the same.

Players signing autographs during the first intermission tonight are scheduled to be Andre Roy, O’Brien, Ryan Craig and Paul Ranger. Since he’s playing tonight, Brad Lukowich unfortunately won’t be able to continue his “Rock Band” career in Shots before the game tonight.
