The Lightning Insider
Let tampabaylightning.com become your destination for all the latest Lightning scoops. The Lightning Insider will be in the stands, in the locker room and on the road with the team throughout the 2007-08 season to provide you with a positive look at the Bolts as they pursue Lord Stanley’s hardware. Our resident snoop will post the latest following practices and morning skates, and he’ll make sure you’re the first to know when the Lightning are making news.  Have a question or comment for The Insider?  Send me an email at Insider@tampabaylightning.com

Guess my last couple of hints sealed the deal. I’d thrown in a “you betcha” a couple of days ago to help everyone along, and now we have a winner in the “guess the silhouette contest.” Congratulations to Janet Valentine, who works in Land O’ Lakes, for correctly identifying the silhouette as Jerry Lundegaard from the movie Fargo (pictured). William H. Macy, who played Lundegaard in the Coen Brothers classic, is being honored by the Sarasota Film Festival in the next week or so.

Six others submitted correct guesses last night and this morning, but Janet beat everyone to the punch and will receive a stick autographed by a Lightning player. (Janet, I’ll be in touch).

Thanks to everyone who submitted guesses; it was fun to remember back to some of the characters and movies mentioned.

The team arrived at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington at about 1 a.m. this morning after last night’s rough outing in Carolina. It won’t get any easier tonight as the Bolts face the hottest team in the league in the Capitals. The team had a brief meeting this morning, then everyone was cut loose to get some more rest. I think I’ll use the free time to wander up to room 871, bang on the door and yell for Client No. 9 to open up!
