The Lightning Insider - Draft Report
One more day until the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
He emerged after 5 p.m. to meet with the media before heading out for a team dinner.
"Lots of tire kicking, nothing really of substance," was Feaster's response when asked if he'd received offers for the top pick tomorrow. At this point I don't think there's any way he'd trade it.
Feaster also stressed that the Lightning's second pick, #62 in the third round, will be crucial.
"We need to make sure that the guy we take in the third round is a National Hockey League player, then we'd look back and say this was a very successful draft," Feaster said.
As usual there are plenty of rumors floating around, some that seem ridiculous and some that seem very possible. The Ottawa Sun is trying to float that Pittsburgh is willing to trade Evgeni Malkin, which is typical of the types of trash you get from the Sun. Some of the names being circulated that make sense are Florida's Olli Jokinen and San Jose's Patrick Marleau, as well as the Sedins in Vancouver.
