The native of Laval, Quebec ranks third on the Lightning’s all-time points list with 485, only four points behind Brad Richards for second, and is first for shorthanded goals with 25. St. Louis is second on the franchise goal-scoring list with 204 and on the power-play goal list with 62. A proven playoff performer, St. Louis is the all-time leader in franchise playoff scoring with 23 goals and 48 points in 45 games. He is also the Lightning’s all-time leader in shorthanded goals with three and his tied for first in game-winning goals with seven. He won the Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004.
Meszaros, acquired by the Lightning from Ottawa on August 29, 2008, is in his first season with the Lightning after spending the previous three with the Senators. He played in all 82 games with Ottawa last season, recording nine goals and 36 points. He has not missed an NHL game in the previous three seasons, skating in 246 consecutive games dating back to October 5, 2005. He led all Senators defensemen in goals in 2007-08 and was second in points. He recorded an assist in five preseason games with the Lightning in 2008.
A 22-year-old native of Povazska Bystrica, Slovakia, Meszaros has played in 246 career NHL games with 26 goals and 110 points. He is also a career plus-24 rating with 11 power play goals. He has played in 34 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, netting two goals and registering nine points.
Meszaros was originally drafted by Ottawa in the first round, 23rd overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
