As strange as it sounds this time of year it was a sunny morning and not too cold in Philadelphia today as the Lightning hopped on the bus to the Wachovia Center for an 11 a.m. practice.

There was an interesting new line combo in practice today as Steven Stamkos, Mark Recchi and Steve Downie were all paired together. 'We need to move some guys around,' Rick Tocchet said. 'We need to get (Downie) a little more ice time.'

Matt Pettinger returned to the ice and skated before practice today and Jeff Halpern has been cleared for full contact. Marek Malik will return to the line up tomorrow night against the Flyers while Gary Roberts came off the ice early today and is questionable. If the Lightning needs anything it is a few wins and to get a few guys out of the MASH unit.

After a slow start Ryan Malone has found some success of late. He is on a team-high four-game goal streak, also a career best. Good for him. He is a good player and an even better guy.

Tocchet announced today that Mike Smith will get the start tomorrow after taking the loss on Saturday night.
