The sun isn't out but it is unseasonably warm in Atlanta as the Lightning take on the Thrashers tonight. We'll have to enjoy this weather as the forecast for Pittsburgh, where the team heads tomorrow, is a high of 31 with some snow showers. I'll keep my fingers crossed that we'll be able to get into Pittsburgh without any delays.

As for the game tonight, maybe facing off agaisnt the Thrashers is just what the Lightning need to kick start their offense. Atlanta ranks second to last in the NHL, allowing 3.68 goals per game, and their penalty killing unit is last at 71.5 percent. If there ever was a time to break out offensively it is now.

Mike Smith will get a chance to redeem him self after Thursday's stick "throwing" incident as he will get the call in net. Jussi Jokinen cleared waivers at noon today and will be in the line up tonight. Jokinen called it a "wake-up call" and Rick Tocchet said he expects a good game out of him tonight. Evgeny Artyukhin will skate warm ups and will most likely be scratched.

From the no justice department, Smith has posted a 0.96 goals-against average and a .970 save percentage in the previous two games, but has a 0-1-1 record to show for it.

Remember tonight's game is on CW44. Check your lists for channel numbers.
