Welcome to the Lightning Insider: All-Star Edition. It has been a long day for Steven Stamkos, and the Insider for that matter. Following last night's 5-3 win against the Sabres it was an early wake-up call this morning to be at the airport for a 7 a.m. flight. Coincidentally Lightning forward Paul Szczechura happened to be on the same flight to Atlanta before he went his separate way.

Once we arrived at our gate in Atlanta Stamkos was greeted by Thrashers YoungStar Bryan Little and also former Team Canada teammate Zach Bogosian. Bogosian was on his way elsewhere and just happened to be at the airport. After clearing customs in Montreal it was to the hotel for a little recharge. Stamkos then had media availability with the rest of the YoungStars at 4 p.m. and it is safe to say that he was a very popular guest. He actually talked to three different reporters from TSN. I think they had it covered. After media availability and some photos for NHL Images, Stamkos and good friend Drew Doughty were escorted to the NHL Jamboree next to the Bell Center for live interviews with TSN (again!) and the NHL Network.

That was about it for today. Time for a little rest. Don't forget to check out Lightning TV on tampabaylightning.com for all the latest behind the scenes action. The crew was with Steven from the airport in Tampa this morning until the last interview ended in Montreal tonight. There should be some good footage on there for the entire weekend as they document the entire weekend and bring it to you on Lightning TV. It should only get better as Vincent Lecavalier and Stamkos head to a local hospital tomorrow morning. Vinny will have his day with media tomorrow, so be sure to check out all the exclusive footage and interviews on tampabaylightning.com.

If you haven't heard, Martin St. Louis has been selected to join the Eastern Conference All-Stars in place of the injured Sidney Crosby. Too bad Crosby won't be able to make it, but I'm sure none of the locals will be complaining when their home-town St. Louis takes to the ice.
