Lightning to Host Spring Hockey Clinics at St. Pete Times Forum
TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning will host spring hockey clinics for youth hockey players 18 years of age or younger beginning Wednesday, February 18 with the final one taking place on Wednesday, April 8. There will be a total of six different clinics on Monday or Wednesday nights.
Lightning spring hockey clinics will take place Wednesday, February 18; Monday, March 2; Wednesday, March 18; Monday, March 30; Monday, April 6; and Wednesday, April 8 at the St. Pete Times Forum. Each clinic will consist of three separate sessions with mites and squirts (children 10 and under) taking the ice from 6-7 p.m. and peewees, bantams and midgets (children 11-18) going on from 7-8 p.m. The third session will consist of goaltenders only from 8:15-9 p.m. The first and second sessions will consist of 24 skaters and six goaltenders while the third session will have a maximum of 18 goaltenders. Each session will have four coaches on ice and will adhere to a skills development curriculum.
The cost of the clinic is $180 per player for all six sessions and also includes a ticket to an upcoming Lightning home game for those who register prior to March 1. Goaltenders who attend either of the first two sessions will be able to skate in the third session free of charge. Participants will receive an exclusive tour of the Lightning locker room and a question and answer session with a Tampa Bay coach.
