The Lightning departed sunny and beautiful Tampa at 2 p.m. yesterday. Six hours later the team charter landed in Edmonton and we were quickly reminded how lucky we are to live in Florida. Not only are the temperatures hovering near zero, there's more snow on the ground then I think I've seen in any of my previous trips up here. It's still coming down and doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon. This is definitely hockey country!

The Lightning have enjoyed some success against Edmonton in the recent past, winning four in a row overall as well as the last two meetings in Edmonton. This just seems to be one of the buildings that brings out the best in our players Hopefully the Bolts gained some confidence after Sunday's win against Boston and can get on a roll.

The full team skated this morning after having yesterday off for travel. Defenseman Lukas Krajicek (lower body) is once again out, so David Koci dresses on defense. Karri Ramo looked strong against the Bruins and will get the nod once again.
