It’s nice to be out of Canada and back in Florida as we prepare for tonight’s matchup against the Panthers in Sunrise. Florida has lost two in a row and dropped to ninth in the Eastern Conference standings, so the pressure is mounting. Might be a nice little motivator for the Lightning tonight. The Bolts have regained some confidence in the past two games so… you never know.

The team had a long video session this morning before hitting the ice for a skate. Rick Tocchet said the lineup will stay the same as it was in Toronto, so Karri Ramo plays again and David Koci sits out.

Ran into former Lightning forward Nick Tarnasky by the locker room this morning. Tarno has been a healthy scratch for most games the past couple of months and will once again be out tonight. Doesn’t sound like things are going too well for him down here.

Finally, I need to end with a “thank you” to former Lightning owner William Davidson, who passed away last night. Mr. D bought a Lightning franchise that was a mess and turned it into a Stanley Cup champion.

For that, we should all be grateful.
