Lightning Reassign D Mike Lundin to Norfolk
 

The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Mike Lundin (lun-DEEN) to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced today.  Defenseman Matt Smaby was also recalled from his conditioning assignment.

Lundin, 6-foot-2, 197 pounds, has played in four games with the Lightning this season, averaging 16:59 in ice time per game. Lundin has played in 110 career NHL games, all with Tampa Bay.  He has recorded eight career assists.  During his rookie season he represented the Lightning in the 2008 YoungStars Game held during All-Star Weekend at Philips Arena in Atlanta.  Last season he played in 25 games with Tampa Bay, recording two assists.

A native of Burnsville, Minnesota, Lundin has played in 20 games with the Admirals this season, recording two goals and 11 points. He currently leads all Norfolk defensemen in goals, assists and points while ranking fifth on the team overall in points and tied for second in assists.

Lundin was drafted by the Lightning in the fourth round, 102nd overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Smaby, assigned to Norfolk for conditioning on November 27, played in two games with the Admirals over the weekend, recording an assist and seven shots on goal.
