The native of Presov, Slovakia was released from his Professional Tryout Contract on November 4 and joined his junior club, the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. He ranks 11th in the OHL in goals-against average and seventh in save percentage.  He has played in 110 career OHL games, posting a 45-53-7 record with a 3.69 goals-against average.

Janus played well at the 2009 World Junior Championships with Team Slovakia. He posted a 3-4-0 record with a 3.20 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage in seven games en route to being selected the top goaltender in the tournament by the attending media.
