Lightning to Hold Special Fundraisers at Young Guns Game
Team Announces Yzerman, Clark, Connolly to Participate in Q & A
The Tampa Bay Lightning will hold multiple fundraising efforts benefitting the Curtis/Kocab Memorial Fund during the Young Guns Game being held Wednesday, July 14 at 6 p.m. at the St. Pete Times Forum. Monies from the fund will go directly to the surviving spouses and families of these officers killed in the line of duty on June 29.
The Lightning Foundation is proud to partner with The Tampa Police Memorial Committee and the Tampa Police Benevolent Association who have established the Curtis/Kocab Memorial Fund. Monies raised will go directly to the surviving spouses and families of these officers killed in the line of duty on June 29, 2010.
On Wednesday, the Lightning Foundation will be collecting cash donations and checks made payable to the Curtis/Kocab Memorial Fund. Additionally, fans will have the chance to enter a raffle to win four Lightning plaza end zone season tickets with all proceeds benefiting the Fund.
During the Young Guns Game the Lightning Foundation will accept cash donations and checks payable to the Curtis/Kocab Memorial Fund at stations located on the concourse at the Times Forum. The team will also hold a raffle for four Lighting plaza level end zone season tickets, normally a $7,196 value. The winner must be present to claim the prize.
In addition to the donation opportunities the Lightning also announced today that participating in Wednesday’s question and answer session will be Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman, recent free agent acquisition Brett Clark and 2010 No. 6 overall draft pick Brett Connolly.
Doors for Wednesday’s Young Guns Game will open at 5:30 p.m. with the game getting underway at 6 p.m. The contest will feature two 20-minute periods with a shootout challenge at the end. Following the game fans will have the opportunity to participate in the question and answer session, get autographs from all the prospects involved in the camp and watch the Lightning Hockey Night radio show broadcast LIVE from the XO VIP Club from 7-8 p.m. They will also have the chance to enter to win exciting Lightning prizes and more, while ThunderBug and the Bolt Brigade will be on hand to entertain.
Complimentary parking will be available in the VIP West Lot and they should access the Times Forum through Gate B. Discounted concessions will also be available.
