Lightning Reassign Johan Harju To Norfolk

The Tampa Bay Lightning reassigned forward Johan Harju (YO-hahn har-YOO) to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Harju, 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, has played in seven games with the Lightning this season, recording a goal and two points.  He has two shots on goal and has averaged 8:01 in ice time.  Harju recorded his first NHL point on December 4 against Colorado and notched his first goal in the very next game, December 7 at Calgary.

A native of Overtornea, Sweden, Harju has appeared in 17 games with the Admirals this season in his North American debut, recording 13 goals and 23 points with a plus-7 rating.  He leads Norfolk in goals, tied for the lead with three power-play goals and is third overall in points.  Harju was named the AHL’s Player of the Week for the period ending November 28 after notching six goals and seven points with a plus-5 rating.  He also ranks tied for eighth in the league in goals.

He was selected by the Lightning in the sixth round, 167th overall, of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
