Lightning set to hold 11th annual Bolt Run on March 31
The Bolt Run features three separate classifications of races in which individuals may participate. The 5K race will begin at 7 a.m., while the five-mile event will start at 7:30 a.m. The one-mile Family Run race will feature a start time of 8:30 a.m. and will wrap up the day’s schedule. All three races will begin and end at the Tampa Bay Times Forum where the pre-event and post-race parties will be held on the west plaza.
Each race will feature chip timing and results that will be posted on www.CoolRunning.com following the races. Awards will be distributed to the top three runners in the 5K, 5-mile and the one-mile Family Run races. Raffle prizes including Lightning merchandise, tickets to events at the Times Forum and Lightning home games will also be awarded. Tampa Bay Lightning broadcasters, alumni, ThunderBug, the Lightning girls and the mobile marketing vehicle, Rolling Thunder, will also be at the event.
Registration for the 11th annual Bolt Run is available online at tampabaylightning.com/boltrun. The $25 advanced entry fee includes a commemorative Bolt Run t-shirt, a ticket to that night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets (7:00 p.m., Sun Sports, 620 AM WDAE), food and beverages and a race goodie bag.
Participants are encouraged to sign-up early and to pick-up their race packets prior to the day of the event. Pre-registered runners can pick-up their packets on Wednesday, March 28 or Friday, March 30 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Times Forum’s XO Club entrance.
