Lightning re-sign free agents JT Wyman and Adam Hall
TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed forwards Adam Hall and JT Wyman to contracts, Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced today. Hall's contract is a one-year, one-way deal, while Wyman signed a one-year, two-way contract.
"I'm happy and excited to be returning to the Lightning for the upcoming season," Hall said. "The expectations for this year are understandably high, and I look forward to contributing where I can to help the team return to the playoffs with the ultimate goal of winning the Stanley Cup."
Hall, 31, played in 57 games last season with Tampa Bay, collecting two goals and seven points to go along with 17 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 213-pound forward ranked second in the NHL in faceoff percentage amongst players with at least 200 faceoff wins at 59.5%. Hall also ranked sixth amongst Lightning forwards with 89 hits.
The Kalamazoo, Michigan native was originally selected by the Nashville Predators in the second round, 52nd overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Hall has played the past four seasons in the Lightning organization, skating in 213 games with the Bolts, recording 14 goals and 35 points. In 565 career NHL games with the Predators, New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins and Lightning, he has registered 65 goals and 143 points.
Wyman, 26, played in 40 games last season with the Lightning, collecting two goals and 11 points to go along with eight penalty minutes. The Edina, Minnesota native set career highs during the 2011-12 season in games played, goals, assists (nine), points and game-winning goals (one). The 6-foot-2, 199-pound forward recorded his first career NHL goal and assist on December 29 versus the Montreal Canadiens. Wyman also appeared in 39 games with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, tallying six goals and 12 points.
The 6-foot-2, 199-pound forward was originally drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the fourth round, 100th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Wyman played three games with the Canadiens during the 2009-10 season.
