2012 NHL Draft: Notable No. 19 Overall Picks

The No. 19 pick might just be a good omen for the Lightning. It was the pick the Lightning received from the Detroit Red Wings--General Manager Steve Yzerman's former team--in exchange for Kyle Quincey. Yzerman's 19 was also the jersey number he made famous in the Motor City.

Another reason is another notable No. 19-overall selection was a key piece on the 2004 Stanley Cup Championship team. That of course was Chris Dingman, who won two cups and now is a member of the Lightning television broadcast team.

With the second of two first-round draft picks in the NHL Draft, the Tampa Bay Lightning have a few options at No. 19. Chris Kreider, who helped the New York Rangers reach the Eastern Conference Finals just weeks after his Boston College squad won the Frozen Four headlines some other notable No. 19-overall selections.

Here is a look at some notable No. 19 selections in Lightning history.
