NHL Cancels Four Lightning Preseason Games
TAMPA BAY – The National Hockey League cancelled four of the Lightning’s seven preseason games today. Cancelled home games include Wednesday, September 26 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum and Thursday, September 27 at Amway Center in Orlando. In addition, the Lightning today announced that their training camp, originally scheduled to begin Friday, September 21 at the Brandon Ice Sports Forum, has been postponed. The team will announce future training camp plans at an appropriate time.
The cancellation of the schedule was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players’ Association and the NHL.
The Lightning will offer Season Ticket Members multiple refund options through its Loyalty and Rewards Program. Season Ticket Members, as well as those with 21- and 10-game plans, will receive information detailing the program and all its benefits soon. Fans that purchased single game tickets to any cancelled preseason game should contact their original point of purchase for refund information.
Also cancelled today were road games in St. Louis, Missouri on September 28 and Raleigh, North Carolina on September 30.
