Lightning Conference Week Four Recap
Lightning Conference Week Four Recap

The Lightning Conference just wrapped up its fourth week of the 2012-13 high school hockey season and Mitchell and Palm Harbor remain the front runners in the conference, holding perfect 5-0 records.

Friday night’s action saw a strong Jesuit team thump a winless Berkeley squad 12-2, while Palm Harbor’s road to remaining unbeaten didn’t come as easy, as they squeaked out a one-goal victory over Freedom, 5-4.

Seminole, Steinbrenner, Berkeley and Bloomingdale will all be looking for their first win next week when action resumes Friday, October 26th.

Palm Harbor’s Hunter Sheehan remains firmly entrenched as the league’s top scorer, collecting 28 points through five games including 18 assists. Wharton’s Julian Baron-Clark has come on as of late, climbing the scoring charts all the way to fourth in the league with 13 goals and 19 points through five games.

Mitchell goaltender Joey Robinson has been solid all season for his unbeaten squad. Robinson has a 5-0-0 record, two shutouts and a 2.00 goals-against average to his credit. Freedom’s Tommy Kilker has also been steady in net for his team this year, earning a 3-2 record and 3.20 goals-against average in five games.

The schedule resumes next Friday when every team is back on the ice. First place Palm Harbor (5-0) battles a winless Seminole (0-5) team that will be looking to use the underdog role to their advantage, while second place Jesuit (4-1) takes on first place Mitchell (5-0) in a matchup of two elite teams.
