Cedric Paquette, the Lightning’s fourth-round pick, 101st overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft is the Lightning Prospect Performer of the Week for the period ending December 2.

The Gaspe, Quebec native has been rock-solid offensively this season and continued that trend this past week, posting three goals and five points in two games as his Blainville-Boisbrand Armada went 1-0-1 and currently sit second in the QMJHL with a 21-5-1-2 record.

The Armada defeated the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, 5-2, Friday evening and Paquette displayed his play-making acumen, notching two assists in the victory. Along with the two helpers, Paquette picked up a plus-3 rating and was named the game’s second star.

The 6-foot-1, 206-pound centerman was all over the ice Saturday night in Drummondville, as the Armada lost a nail-biter, 7-6, in overtime. Paquette proved to be the biggest offensive threat on the ice as he recorded three goals, including the tying goal to send the game to overtime, as his team fell just short. For the second consecutive night, Paquette was named the second star of the game.

Saturday night’s tilt proved to be the first hat trick and the 12th multi-point game of the season for Paquette as he currently ranks second on his team and 14th in league point scoring with 13 goals and 35 points in 27 games.

Paquette was recently selected to represent the QMJHL in the Subway Super Series where his league faced off against the best Russian prospects in the world. Both games were played in Quebec and the teams split the series, 1-1, as team Russia won the first game, 6-2, and team QMJHL won the second, game 5-2.

Paquette was held off the score sheet in both games.

The Armada have been on fire this season, sporting a 21-5-1-2 record and ranking fifth in the Canadian Hockey League top 10 rankings. Paquette has really seemed to find the offensive side of his game as he has notched 20 goals and 52 points in his previous 38 games, dating back to last year’s playoffs.

With his consistent offensive production and admirable play at both ends of the ice, Paquette has proved to be a very solid pick in the fourth round of last year’s draft for the Lightning.
