Alex Killorn, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s third-round selection of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, is the Lightning Prospect Performer of the Week for the period ending December 17.

Killorn has been on fire as of late and is riding a four-game goal scoring streak.

The Harvard grad’s recent tear has catapulted him to the top five for goals on the Syracuse Crunch, as he has been a centerpiece in the Crunch’s current three-game winning streak.

This past week, Killorn registered three goals and an assist during three games. Killorn also notched his second power-play goal of the season in the second period of Saturday night’s 4-0 win against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Killorn now has accumulated eight goals and 10 assists on the year and has registered five points in his last four games.

Next up for Syracuse is a back-to-back set with the W-B/Scranton Penguins and the Adirondack Phantoms, the same opponents for the Crunch as this past weekend. Killorn probably loves to see those two teams on the schedule as he has combined for eight of his 18 points this season against the Penguins and Phantoms. Killorn has amassed three goals and an assist against Adirondack and a goal and three assists against W-B/Scranton this season.

Honorable Mentions:

Brett Connolly (Forward) – Syracuse – AHL – Brett Connolly has also been hot as of late. This week he found the back of the net three times in as many games and has jumped into second place for Crunch scoring. After his three-goal performance this week, Connolly now has 12 goals this season and moved up to 12th in the league for goals and cracked the top-20 for league scoring with 23 points.

Dmitry Korobov (Defenseman) – Syracuse – AHL – Korobov had a solid week for the Crunch, playing an integral part in their three wins. Even though Korobov did not find the back of the net this week, he registered three helpers and posted a plus-4 rating in three games. Korobov has been a solid defender all season for the Crunch and his stat sheet shows it. Korobov now leads the AHL for plus/minus with a plus-18 rating. He also stays out of the penalty box with only 14 penalty minutes in 21 games.

Cédric Paquette (Forward) – Blainville-Boisbriand – QMJHL – Cédric Paquette put another good week in with two goals and an assist. With points in both games this week, Paquette kept his scoring streak going as it has reached nine games now. In those nine games, Paquette has registered five goals and 11 assists. Not only has he scored in nine straight games, but he has also scored in 13 of his last 14 games. Paquette’s scoring streak has solidified him as Blainville-Boisbriand’s top scorer. Paquette has now racked up 28 assists on the year and 43 points. He checks in with a plus-17 rating and is winning over 50 percent of his face-offs.
