Tampa Bay Lightning Record Highest-Rated Season Ever on Fox's Sun Sports
Sun Sports, the exclusive regional television home of the Tampa Bay Lightning, proudly announced the 2013 NHL regular season finished as the highest-rated season ever in the history of the Lightning on the network. This year, 43 out of 48 games aired between Sun Sports and FOX Sports Florida, and the final household rating average in the Tampa DMA was a 1.8 HH RTG (32,518 households). The 1.8 HH RTG marked a 30 percent year-over-year viewing audience increase for the Bolts, according to Nielsen Media Research.
This season’s strong TV ratings for Lightning games have contributed to an annual rising audience tune-in trend for the Bolts in the Tampa market, growing from a .59 HH RTG in 2009-2010, to a .82 HH RTG in 2010-11, to 1.39 HH RTG in 2011-12.
