Lightning to Hold Special Olympics Night this Thursday
The Lightning have teamed up with Special Olympics Florida to host a Special Olympics Night at the Tampa Bay Times Forum Thursday, January 9

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have teamed up with Special Olympics Florida to host a Special Olympics Night at the Tampa Bay Times Forum this Thursday, January 9 when the Bolts host the Washington Capitals at 7:30 p.m.

The Lightning will be welcoming more than 750 athletes, their families, volunteers and staff from Special Olympics Florida to Thursday’s game. Members from Special Olympics Florida will be participating in the Lightning’s High Five Tunnel before the game, Zamboni rides and will watch the pre-game warm-ups from the penalty box.

Fans can purchase four different packages to help support Special Olympic athletes, ranging from $2,500 to $350 in price. The top tiered package includes the sponsorship of 100 tickets for athletes, a Lightning player signed stick, eight fifth floor Chase Club tickets and a $200 donation to Special Olympics Florida. The mission of Special Olympics Florida is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy. They also want them to participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympians and the community.
