Prospect Performer of the Week: Brett Connolly
Syracuse Crunch forward Brett Connolly has been named the Lightning prospect of the week after he was named to the AHL All-Star game

Tampa Bay Lightning prospect and Syracuse Crunch forward Brett Connolly earned top honors as he was named to the 2014 American Hockey League (AHL) All-Star Classic team. Connolly along with Crunch head coach, Rob Zettler, were named to the team this past Thursday. This is the second consecutive year a Crunch head coach has appeared at the AHL All-Star Classic, after current Lightning head coach, Jon Cooper, appeared in 2013.

Connolly is also coming off of an eight-game point streak. In that span the Prince George, British Colombia native has recorded 16 points (seven goals, nine assists), averaging a point per period in the past three games and recording the game-winning goal in the Crunch's last four victories.

Appearing in 11 games with the Lightning, Connolly currently ranks tied for third on the Crunch with nine goals and 14 assists. The 6-foot-2, 181-pound left wing has helped the Crunch surge to fourth in the AHL's Eastern Division after a five-game road trip that ended Friday with a 1-0 shutout win.

The AHL All-Star Classic will take place February 11 and 12 at the Mile One Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland. Prior to that, Connolly will look to advance the Crunch's position in the division as they host a three-game homestand beginning this Friday.
