Lightning earn home ice advantage, host Game One of playoffs Wednesday
By nature of a 1-0 shootout win over the Washington Capitals Sunday, the Tampa Bay Lightning earned home ice advantage for the first round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The first game of the best-of-seven series between the Lightning and the Montreal Canadiens will be held at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Wednesday, April 16. The start time will be at 7 pm.
The remainder of the first-round schedule will be announced by the National Hockey League later this evening.

Tampa Bay went 3-0-1 against the Canadiens during the 2013-14 regular season. Of the four meetings between the teams, three of them were decided in overtime or in the shootout. The Lightning went 1-0-1 at the Times Forum and 2-0-0 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Defenseman Victor Hedman led all Lightning skaters with four points, all assists, during the season series, while center Nate Thompson led the team with two goals.
