COMMUNITY HERO PROGRAM

In 2011, Lightning owner Jeff Vinik, along with his wife, Penny, launched the Lightning Community Heroes program to distribute $10 million dollars to deserving Heroes throughout the Tampa Bay community over a five year period. At each of the Lightning’s 41 regular season home games for the past two seasons, the Lightning Foundation has awarded a $50,000 check to a non-profit charity, totaling $4,100,000 since the program’s inception.
