The search has begun for the 2014-15 Lightning Girls team!

Interested females must be 18 years of age or older and must have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED).

How to register prior to Audition Day:

Serious candidates are advised to submit a resume and one 5x7 headshot, and the Lightning Girls Application by June 27, 2014. Although not required, we are also asking for and a two-minute video DVD (or web link to video) expressing your desire to be a Lightning Girl and any special or unique talents and any related skills you may have. This will help us get to know the candidates prior to the auditions and these applicants will be heavily considered.

How to register on Audition Day:

Registration will begin at 10am and will close at 11am. Please bring with you a resume, Lightning Girl Application and one 5x7 headshot.

Audition Day Information:

WHEN: July 6th, 2014
Registration: 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Preliminary Auditions: 11 a.m.
Final Auditions: 1:00 p.m. 
*Advancing candidates are required to remain at auditions.

WHERE: Tampa Bay Times Forum

All participants are asked to enter the building via the McDonalds Box Office located by the front entrance at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Attendants will be available to direct you to the Auditions that will be held inside the building. Limited Free Parking available in the West Lot at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.


Female over the age of 18 with a High School Diploma or GED. Must have flexible evening and weekend schedules for home games and appearances, and a weekly mandatory rehearsal. Experienced ice skaters and dancers are a plus, but it is not necessary.

Audition Candidates should bring:

  • Application requirements (resume, 5x7 photo, application)
  • Photo ID to register
  • Water, towel, snack
  • Half-top or sports bra, hot shorts, skin colored tights, and dance shoes or sneakers
  • Full performance make-up and hair

What to expect:

Round 1: All applicants will learn choreographed material and perform.

Round 2: Advancing applicants will learn new choreographed material to perform. Those who advance will be brought in for interviews during the coming week.

Although the auditions are dance based, we will NOT be making our final decisions on dance skill and technique alone. Advanced dancers and beginners are welcome to participate in auditions.
