Season Series: This is the second of four meetings this season between the two teams. The Bolts traveled to Scotiabank Place on October 15 and fell in a lopsided decision. The contest marked the sixth consecutive time in 2009-10 that the Lightning had conceded the game’s first goal. The Senators scored two goals in the first ten minutes of the opening period, including one by Milan Michalek who went on to record a hat trick on the night.

“The last game versus Ottawa we sat on our heels too much,” Lightning defenseman Mattias Ohlund said entering the game. “Hopefully you learn from your mistakes, you move on, and next time you get the win.”

The Big Story: A couple of them actually. Tomorrow night’s game marks the 10th of the season for Lightning rookie James Wright. If Wright plays in Thursday’s game against Ottawa, his contract counts and would be officially be considered one-year pro, which is significant in calculating when a player becomes a free agent.

In addition, on account of New York Rangers sniper Marian Gaborik’s injury, Martin St. Louis’ point streak to start the season has the chance to be the only remaining active streak should he extend it.

Team Scope:

LIGHTNING– This is the second-to-last game of a four-game home stand before the Lightning hit the road on Monday night in Philadelphia and continues on until November 7 in Montreal, a trip spanning four games in seven days.

The Lightning will host its 10th Annual Tampa Fights Cancer Night, an event in which the Bolts are 9-0-0 all-time.

SENATORS – Thursday’s game marks the final contest of a two-game road trip through Florida for Ottawa.

Ottawa recently welcomed back defenseman, and former Lightning player, Filip Kuba, who has not played since the season-opening game due to a lower-body injury. Coach Cory Clouston is hoping Kuba can spark one of the worst power plays in the league. The Senators have scored only four times in 35 chances (11.4 percent, 29th out of 30 teams).

Who’s Hot: Martin St. Louis, who leads the Lightning with 13 points – a mark that he has accomplished by recording at least one point in all games this season. Thursday’s game also marks St. Louis’ 318th consecutive game played.

And Steven Stamkos, who has recorded at least a point in all but one game this season. He added a goal to his previous total of six on Saturday against Buffalo and has recorded four assists over nine games this season, ranking him second on the team in points, tied for first in goals, and tied for third in assists. Stamkos also has scored seven goals in the last seven games.

For Ottawa, Jason Spezza has seven assists in his last five games, Daniel Alfredsson has two goals and six assists in his previous four games, Mike Fisher has a goal and four assists in his previous three games, Milan Michalek has six goals in his last five games, and Nick Foligno has two goals and an assist in his previous four games.
