• Lightning host Flames tonight at 7pm

The Big Story: Tampa Bay has won six of the last nine and improved its record at home to 8-1-2 in its last 11 games with a 5-2 victory on Thursday against the Islanders. Both teams come into tonight looking to hold on to the final playoff spot in each of their respective conferences, with the Lightning clinging to the East’s eighth position at 59 points and the Flames sitting in the same spot in the West with 66.

Team Scope:

LIGHTNING – Tonight is the second of four games on the team’s current home stand, which kicked off with a 5-2 win over the Islanders on Thursday. Steven Stamkos scored twice, including once on the power play, to tie a career-high eight-game point streak. The mark moved him into sole possession of first place with a league-best 13 goals with the man advantage. Martin St. Louis also matched a career-best five-game goal streak in the contest and Antero Niittymaki won for the fifth time in his last six. The Lightning goaltender has a .963 save percentage and 1.13 goals-against average in that span.

FLAMES – Calgary comes into the St. Pete Times Forum for its second game of three on the road. Tonight also marks the second half of a back-to-back set for the team, the first of which was played in Sunrise last night, resulting in a 2-1 Flames victory. Ales Kotalik and Mark Giordano scored for Calgary, which snapped a four-game road losing streak. The Flames enter tonight’s contest as winners in three of their last four, but will attempt to put together their first three-game winning streak since winning a season-high five in a row from Dec. 28 – Jan. 5.

Who’s Hot: Steven Stamkos is riding an eight-game point streak in which he has scored six goals and six assists, and Martin St. Louis has scored a goal in five straight, while collecting seven points in his last five contests. Vincent Lecavalier, Alex Tanguay and Steve Downie each have three points in their last two.

- Calgary’s Jay Bouwmeester has tallied a pair of assists in as many games and Jarome Iginla has recorded 10 points in his last 10 games.
