Season Series: The two teams don’t see each other often, but will meet tonight at the Scotiabank Saddledome for the only matchup of the season.

The Big Story: Tampa Bay has earned victories against Calgary in four of the last five meetings, including three straight on the road. Calgary is seeking its first win against the Lightning in three years, while the Bolts’ Steven Stamkos is looking to prevent that from happening by coming out of a five-game goal slump. The Lightning forward’s dry spell is the longest since Mar. 12-20 of last season. Teammates Martin St. Louis and Pavel Kubina are also expected to celebrate a pair of milestones tonight, as they play in their 800th and 850th career games, respectively.

Team Scope:

LIGHTNING – This is the first of a three-game road trip through Western Canada for the Bolts. The Lightning have been solid on the road recently, winning four of their last six played away from home, and picked up an additional two points in their last game against Colorado at the St. Pete Times Forum to start the trip off on the right foot. Six different players scored for the Lightning, including Simon Gagne who has five points in his last three games. Head Coach Guy Boucher, as well as Gagne’s teammates, all expressed their excitement regarding his return to the lineup following Saturday’s 6-5 win and believe that they will start to see his game unfold moving forward in helping the team win games.

FLAMES - Calgary hosts the Lightning for a one-game home stand before traveling on the road to California beginning Thursday. Tonight will be just the Flames’ third game at home in their last 10. Calgary has alternated wins and losses in each of its last six games, and failed to win two straight again on Sunday as it fell to Chicago by a 4-2 decision in a game that featured a combined total of five first-period goals. Jarome Iginla helped the Flames climb out of an early 2-0 deficit, but Chicago scored at opportune times to keep Calgary at bay, including the final goal in the last minute of regulation that sealed the win.

Who’s Hot: Ryan Malone has two goals and six points during a four-game point streak and Sean Bergenheim and Victor Hedman each have two points in as many contests. Simon Gagne also has five points his last three games. Calgary’s Jarome Iginla has five points in four games and Mark Giordano is riding a four-game point streak with a goal and three assists in that span.
