Season Series:

The Lightning and Islanders wrap up the four-game set on Saturday in the season-series finale at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. New York has taken two of the first three matchups on the season, each at home while scoring five goals both times, while Tampa Bay’s lone win came back on Oct. 20 by a 4-1 score at the Times Forum.

The Big Story:

Tampa Bay snapped a three-game skid in its last game on Thursday and look to use the win as a vehicle to build some momentum in order to finish the season strong. With 73 points, the Lightning sit just two points above the Islanders, who themselves are seeking to extend a two-game win streak and tie Tampa Bay in the standings.

Team Scope:

LIGHTNING – The Bolts wrap up a season-high seven-game homestand against the Islanders, looking to build off Thursday night’s win to gain some momentum before hitting the road for a three-game stint that begins Monday at Philadelphia. Tom Pyatt recorded his first career two-goal game in Thursday’s 3-2 shootout win over the Oilers and Dwayne Roloson turned in a solid performance in which he stopped 34 of 36 shots to help the Lightning snap a three-game skid and get back on the winning track. The victory came as a much-needed boost for Roloson, who picked up his first win in net since Feb. 16, as well as the team, which won for just the second time in eight games.

ISLANDERS – New York continues on its five-game road trip Saturday, looking to remain undefeated on the current swing away from home. The Islanders are coming off consecutive victories in which they earned a 3-2 win in the shootout against Montreal on St. Patrick’s Day and followed it up with a 5-2 win against Toronto in the most recent outing on Tuesday. Matt Moulson led the way with two goals, and Josh Bailey, PA Parenteau and David Ullstrom also scored for New York, which had previously lost five straight prior to its most recent pair of victories. John Tavares also had a three-assist outing as New York locked down defensively to finally break through against its slumping conference rivals.

Tampa Bay’s Tom Pyatt recorded the first two-goal game of his career on Thursday and now has 10 goals on the season, which are five times his total in each of the previous two seasons. Matt Moulson has four goals and an assist over his last six games, reaching a new career high in goals this season with 32.

The Lightning acquired goalie Dwayne Roloson from the Islanders in exchange for defenseman Ty Wishart on Jan. 1, 2011. Injured Tampa Bay defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron skated in 69 games with New York over two seasons, most notably scoring the game-winning goal in Game 2 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Semifinals at Buffalo, in what is the Islanders' most recent postseason victory. Another goal scorer in the Islanders' most recent postseason victory was current Lightning defenseman Bruno Gervais. Gervais was drafted by the Islanders in 2003 and prior to signing with Tampa Bay last summer, all 331 of his NHL games had come with New York. Eric Brewer played for New York from 1998-00, after getting drafted in the first round, 5th overall, by the Islanders in 1997. Nate Thompson was claimed off waivers from the Islanders during the 2009-10 season. All seven of Trevor Smith's NHL games prior to this season came with the Islanders.
