Lightning look to end six-game homestand on strong note
Vancouver Canucks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

CANUCKS (31-29-10) vs. LIGHTNING (36-24-7)

TV/Radio:

SUN/RSD2; AM 970 WFLA

Last 10:

Vancouver 4-5-1; Tampa Bay 4-4-2

Season Series:

Four different players from the Tampa Bay Lightning scored in the Bolts first win of the 2014 calendar year against the Vancouver Canucks, while Ben Bishop stopped 28 of 30 shots he faced. This is the Lightning's last meeting against the Canucks and their lone visit to the Tampa Bay Times Forum this season.

Big Story:

Despite dropping three straight games in the first half of their six-game homestand, including two in a shootout, Tampa Bay has collected points in four straight.

Team Scope:

LIGHTNING – Playing arguably their most complete game since re-opening the 2013-14 campaign at the end of February, the Lightning saw improvements on both ends of the ice against a pesky and disciplined New Jersey Devils team.

"We were able to get a few chances to score a couple goals," Valtteri Filppula said. "When that happens they are forced to open up a little bit and it gives us more opportunity to be in their zone."

Ben Bishop also returned to form, stopping all 23 shots he faced in a 3-0 whitewash. The win, his 31st of the year, became a franchise single season record for victories, topping Nikolai Khabibulin's 30 from the 2002-03 season.

With a tough road trip featuring two division rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, as well as one of the Eastern Conference's best, the Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay hopes to earn points in their fifth straight game before playing five of their next seven on the road.

CANUCKS – Three points out of the last Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, the Canucks have struggled to stay in the postseason race. The team, who dealt goaltender Roberto Luongo at the trade deadline, has not been able to accumulate back-to-back wins since mid-January.

While winning two out of three games on their current four-game road trip, two of those wins have come in a shootout, including Sunday's 4-3 victory versus the Florida Panthers. Vancouver has won one game in regulation in the month of March (eight games).

Who's Hot:

Forwards Ondrej Palat (three goals, four assists) and Valtteri Filppula (one goal, six assists) both extended their point streaks to four games, while blueliner Mike Kostka has five points since joining the Bolts (seven games).

Canucks' forward Alexandre Burrows has six points (three goals, three assists) in his past four games.

Injury Report:

Lightning – D Brian Lee (Knee, Out); Canucks – D Andrew Alberts (concussion, out), F Ryan Kesler (knee, out), F Daniel Sedin (hamstring, out)
