VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Down by two goals and winless in seven home games, the Vancouver Canucks never thought they were out of it.
Markus Naslund scored his second goal of the game with 20.5 seconds left in overtime and the Canucks rallied twice to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-4 Wednesday night.
Vancouver fell behind 3-1 and 4-3 but still managed to win at home for the first time in over a month, thanks largely to a four-point night from their captain.
``We battled tonight and we all felt we were going to come back even when we were down 3-1,'' said Naslund, who also had two assists. ``I saw a change in our team and hopefully this is a nice turnaround for us.''
It was for Todd Bertuzzi, who ended a 10-game goal drought by scoring twice, including the tying tally with 6:23 left. The Canucks ended their first three-game losing streak in two seasons.
Bertuzzi also won a key offensive faceoff on the winning goal, sending the puck back to the point, where Sami Salo blasted a shot on net.
Naslund won a battle for the rebound at the side of the net and lifted his 27th goal past Nikolai Khabibulin, ending a wild overtime just six seconds after Vancouver had an apparent goal waved off.
``It was a nice shot by Sami that Khabibulin couldn't hold onto and I just went to the net and got a lucky bounce and I just had to flip it over,'' said Naslund, who set up both of Bertuzzi's goals. ``I thought [Bertuzzi] was a powerful force and he played a great game and it's good to see him get a couple.''
Bertuzzi tied it after taking a pass from Naslund just inside the Tampa Bay blue line. With Jason Cullimore draped on his back, he drove hard to the net and stuffed a shot under Khabibulin.
Trevor Linden also scored, and Dan Cloutier made 31 saves for the Canucks, who haven't won in regulation at home since Nov. 8.
``We could easily have played into their hands and just folded up, but we stuck with it,'' Bertuzzi said. ``The guys knew in the room it was a must that we come back and try to get the two points.''
Ed Jovanovski appeared to win it for the Canucks with 26.1 seconds left when he jammed the puck under Khabibulin after Linden was stopped on a three-on-one, but the referee waved it off, saying the whistle already blew.
Dave Andreychuk scored 10:47 into the third to give the Lightning a 4-3 lead, but for the second straight game they couldn't hold it.
Dan Boyle and Ruslan Fedotenko scored 1:41 apart late in the first period to give Tampa Bay a 3-1 lead. But Naslund and Linden responded in the second to tie it.
Fredrik Modin also scored and added an assist for the Lightning, who also blew a late lead to Colorado and lost in overtime Monday.
``It's really frustrating,'' said Khabibulin, who gave up all six goals against Colorado on Monday and finished with just 23 saves against Vancouver.
``The last two games we had a late one-goal lead and we weren't able to hold it. When the team scores four goals nowadays you should win a hockey game. If I'm going to let in five goals, we're not going to win.''
The Lightning fell to 0-7-2 in Vancouver but coach John Tortorella was pleased with his team's performance, especially after traveling cross-country on Tuesday.
``You're not going to get anything negative out of me,'' he said. ``After the travel day we had yesterday, I thought our team battled. We didn't get two points, but I got no complaints about the effort of this hockey club right now.''
